WHY Chambers K9 Training?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been around dogs. Growing up we always had a dogs around. Trapper John and Max were always my responsibility as a kid. My first dog, though, was Remy. A boxer I’d wanted forever. I found him rolling around in a mud puddle, tied to a tree. He wasn’t abandoned, but a runt who was kept away from the rest of his litter. He had my heart from that second on. He was perfect. But he wasn’t perfect. You understand, right? He was notorious for jumping on guests, barking, digging holes in the yard, having accidents in the house. My relationship with the dog I’d wanted for so long was more stressful than I anticipated.
I was a broke college kid, so I trekked to the library to find out all I could about dog training. I even read one of those “Dummy” books. And I became a “dog nerd” real quick. Soon Remy was behaving, not jumping so much, didn’t chew up any more of my new shoes (RIP Clark Wallabies). And then, I was training my friend’s dogs; getting their stubborn dogs to sit, down, stay, in the time it took my friend’s to get their dogs to look at them.
I realized I loved it. So I got certified with Animal Behavior College, and set out to help anyone and everyone with their dogs. I have since trained many dogs with a wide variety of behavioral problems. Each dog is different and comes with their own set of issues to solve. I enjoy solving problems. I love knowing what makes a dog tick, and each one is different. It can be challenging but well worth it to see my clients get to enjoy their dog again.
Today, I train dogs in Charleston, SC, I’m a certified evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test and I’m part of the local working dog club that I attend with my Belgian Malinois, Tres, where we work in a protection sport called IGP. It’s a blast watching my dog progress through each phase of the training. Training dogs is my passion. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing clients experience the same joy of having a well-trained dog as I did with Remy and I do with Tres. My motto is “Bring out the BEST in man’s best friend”. If you’re ready to bring out the best in your dog, I would love to use my experience and knowledge to train your dog.

Puppy Training
